Erosion Control Co Ltd was the first hydroseeding company established in Auckland. Hydroseeding is a major part of our business and has been since 1975. With over 30 years experience we are the most knowledgeable hydroseeding company in the greater Auckland area. We can create the seed mix or hydromulch that will best meet with your requirements.

Erosion Control Co Ltd also has other services within our company that compliment our hydroseeding operations. These include land cultivation, tractor grassing, native planting and strawmulching.

Hydroseeding can be done on any surface, providing a great system for stabilizing bare areas without the need to prepare the soil to the same degree as with conventional methods.

In extreme conditions we often strawmulch over the hydroseeded areas, this improves the hydroseeding process greatly resulting in:

• Added Moisture Retention.

Hydroseeding is a means of seeding using a slurry as a medium for seeds to germinate and grow. This slurry is called hydromulch.

Hydromulch products vary but most are made from ground wood fibre product or waste paper products. Both have their place, though wood fibre is more expensive due to the fact that it is imported. Erosion Control Ltd have recently introduced a hydromulch product that we call Liquid Soil™. This product is made from 100% New Zealand ingredients and is superior to both paper and wood fibre products.

Unique Solution

Problem: During reinstatement of a gold mine Erosion Control Co Ltd were called on to hydro seed a particularly tall cut approximately 100 metres high.

Other hydroseeding company's had been asked to carry out this work but none could pump that high. The other option was a helicopter. Enter Erosion Control.

Solution: Using our specialsed pumping system coupled with an appropriate lubricant the task was easily completed.
